It’s midwinter and there’s the scent of ice and pine on the air. The Underwood family and friends gather for a farewell dinner at the family home, Darkfell Manor. After five hundred years this is to be the last night.

An oversight by the late lord of the manor has led to his son losing the inheritance which now goes to an unknown and distant male cousin. The heir has accepted an invitation to dinner, and everyone waits. The house is uneasy, a snowstorm racks the fells and strange noises disturb the party because Darkfell Manor has its own ghosts. Despite the deep snow and the rage of the blizzard, an unexpected visitor arrives and brings consequences for the future.
